Columbia River is adjacent with marine recreation options; and rural farms, ranches and dairy operations offer produce, beef and dairy products in casual settings.
The hotel was great. The kitchen is awesome for a light breakfast and snacks. Creaky floors but we didn’t mind. Loved exploring the little town. Very quiet and low-key area.
Loved staying here! As other reviews have mentioned the rooms are small but they are adequate and we had a great stay. It is very clean and they have done such a great job keeping it's old look and charm. To me the best measure of a hotel room is the bed and shower and both were a solid A++. There is a great kitchen and library/game room. They have really paid attention to the details. The bathroom has places to put all your "stuff". So often this is not the case. Looking forward to staying here on my next visit to Cathlamet.
It's not often you stumble on a charming, cozy hotel situated within easy reach of so many things to do. I feel very fortunate to have found the Hotel Cathlamet. The rooms are not large but are comfortable and have everything you need. The Columbia river is right down the hill, there are small businesses serving up art and good food within a few steps, the Little Island Creamery is a short distance away, the Hansen Nature Preserve it's quite close, and, should you get tired of the Washington side of the Columbia, the car ferry dock to Oregon is a mere three miles. All in all, a delightful experience in a welcoming small town.
New to the area while motorcycle touring, we reserved a room for 1 night in advance online. We were not sure what to expect, but discovered that this book can't be judged by it's cover. Clean, comfortable facilities. Very good area for the complimentary continental breakfast. Hats off to the owners for saving & resurrecting this old hotel. We'd stay here again. PS. Great motorcycle roads in the area, too.
This service is absolutely amazing. Top notch and could not be better! Very kind and accommodating. I love this place, it totally gives me the feel of Mcminemans. The bathrooms were clean The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The window sills and behind the beds could definitely be dusted off but I would definitely stay here again,The location is perfect also.
Wow, what a fun boutique hotel! All the basics are there: spacious rooms, clean, solid continental breakfast, A/C, mini-fridge. But it's the extras that make this place stand out: A lounge with games, puzzles, and books. Right on the main street of a quaint town by the Columbia River. Beautiful and intriguing art and collectibles in the rooms, hallways and lobby. It's like going back in time (in a great way)!
My wife and I spent a few nights here and greatly enjoyed our stay. The hotel lobby as well as the downstairs entrance is a absolutely lovely place to relax, as well as the large kitchen and dining room area. The room's tv worked fine as did its refrigerator. We utilized the little grocery store next door as well as River Mile 38 Brewing Company. This town and hotel is worth going out of your way for to relax in.
